Speaking of AdSense, you may have heard how so many people are becoming ticked off with Google’s tough rules and strict guidelines, as well as the drop in profits a lot of AdSense publishers have been experiencing.

In case you weren’t aware, there are plenty of alternatives out there and some of them can be even more profitable than AdSense.

Well, I’ve finally started to recover from what I lost when BizGoldHosting went bust. It really was an unfortunate situation, a lot of important tracking and research data I had is simply gone forever. I’d read several times not to trust ‘Lifetime Hosting’ packages because it just doesn’t make sense, but when the email offer landed in my inbox I just thought I’d give it a try.

I put up a few relatively unimportant websites on the BizGoldHosting server just to test it and I was quite impressed with the reliability and uptime. So impressed in fact, that I went out and ordered a second Lifetime account. This time I made the mistake of hosting some very important scripts on it, a tracking script and a survey script, I even put this blog on it. :(

A few months down the line, and I still had no real problems to speak of, this hosting seemed like a real good deal. Then I receive an email from BizGoldHosting offering me the chance to become a Lifetime Hosting reseller for a one off fee. Considering my good experience with them, I bit the bullet and slapped down a healthy chunk of money to become a reseller. Unknown to me at the time, this was a big mistake.

Everything would probably still have been alright had they not started selling those reseller licenses, as I noticed the servers reliability suffered. Though from what I understand, the owners of BizGoldHosting were late on paying their bill to the company they were renting servers from, so they just got cut off, along with all their customers, and their customers customers. There was a discussion about the entire situation over at the WarriorForum:

If you are a customer of mine who ordered a LifetimeHosting account through me, use the contact link above and get in touch through my HelpDesk. Mention that you got a hosting account through me, and include your PayPal email address so I can verify. I am going to make it up to all of you in whatever way I can, unfortunately, I’m not able to offer you all refunds, as that would make me go bust too. :( Though I do have a few things in mind that should be of value to you.

Its an unfortunate situation for all, I’m sure the owners of BizGoldHosting are being swamped by angry customers looking refunds. Thats why I haven’t even bothered to contact them about it, I’m sure they didn’t mean for it to happen, and they don’t need me piling on the stress.

I can say one thing for sure, I think my days of dabbling with Lifetime Hosting offers are finished. Lesson learned, time to move on. :)

Incidentally, if you are looking for affordable web hosting with great customer service, I can recommend BlueHost, they’ve been around for years and always get good reviews. Do a google search for ‘bluehost reviews’ and you’ll see they always come recommended.

That’s all I have to say on this matter, as I said, if you did order the hosting from me, get in touch using the contact link above, don’t forget to mention your PayPal email as I need to verify you did in fact order through me as there were a lot of BizGold resellers. I can’t just give this bonus away to anyone as its very valuable.

To online success!

Getting email past spam filters and into peoples inboxes seems to be getting harder and harder by the day.

In my testing I have discovered a simple tactic that massively increases the chances your email will get past the filters AND acted on. That is to simply keep all of your emails very short!

I never send an entire ezine or a complete sales pitch in the email, just a short summary or headline and a link to read the rest. Some of the best and most successful newsletters I subscribe to use this technique, because it works!

To make more people respond to your emails and actually click on the links, dont use ugly meaningless links, but actually put a powerful headline in the link itself!

For example:

Give it a try in your next mailing and see for yourself. Keep your emails short and the response will jump thru the roof!

What does it take to become a successful Affiliate Marketer? What are the ingredients of an affiliate marketing success story? Is there a shortcut to Affiliate Marketing glory? All these questions play around in the minds of affiliate marketers who want to make it big in this business.

Although affiliate marketing is touted as one of the easiest and most effective ways to earn money online, it is not as easy as it sounds. The wise affiliate marketer must plan every action and execute it the best way he can. He should also maximize the potential to earn by utilizing the right tools necessary for a successful Affiliate Marketing business. I have consulted some of the most successful affiliate marketers in the business and below are the top three necessary tools for a successful affiliate marketing business.

Important Tool #1: Your Own Website

The most important and indispensable tool in Affiliate Marketing is your own website. The first step in any successful affiliate marketing business is building a good, credible and professional looking website. Your website is the jump off point of all your marketing efforts. Thus, you must first build a user-friendly website, which will appeal to your prospects and encourage them to click on the links to the products and service you are promoting and make a purchase. Therefore, you must first concentrate your efforts in building a website that will cater to what your prospects need.

The most important thing you should consider is that almost all web users go online to look for information, not necessarily to go and buy something. Above all else, make your website full of original, relevant and useful content. People will love articles that are appealing and helpful. Keep in mind that, in the internet, content is still king and good quality content will not only build your credibility, it can also help you achieve a higher search engine ranking. By posting relevant and useful articles, you establish yourself as a credible expert in the field, making you a more trustworthy endorser of the product or service you promote. Establishing a good reputation is a good step in building up a loyal consumer base.

To help you organize and keep track of all the affiliate programs you promote, you should have one domain that will become your ‘Affiliate Nerve Center’ where you promote all your products from. Give it a catchy name and on the homepage you can have either a clickbank directory, or as I do, a subscription page to catch subscribers.

Then when promoting new products, give every product its own sub domain like this:

AffiliateNerveCenter.com/product1
AffiliateNerveCenter.com/product2
AffiliateNerveCenter.com/product3

This keeps your links clean, protects your commissions and also brands you and your domain!

Important Tool #2: Incentives

Competition is extremely tight in the internet world. You must always be one-step ahead of your rivals to ensure that you capture a significant share of your target market. Therefore, you must use every possible means to encourage people not only to visit your site but also to click and proceed to the websites of the products and services you are promoting. Building an opt-in email list is one of the best ways to gather prospects. Offer a newsletter or an e-zine. Better yet, offer incentives to your prospects to encourage them to subscribe to your newsletters. You can present free softwares, access to exclusive services and other freebies that will be helpful to your prospects.

Also, once you have a list, if you plan on promoting a product or service you know everyone else will be promoting, you want to set yourself apart from the masses, give your subscribers incentives to buy through your link instead of someone elses. Think about what extra value you can give them to encourage them to buy through you.

Important Tool #3: Link Popularity

The importance of driving highly targeted traffic to your website cannot be emphasized enough. The all-important web traffic is at the top of the list of the most important entities in the internet world. Attracting people to your site should be the first step you should carry out. Do everything to achieve a high search engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that search engines use to determine search engine rankings. Therefore, to enhance your link popularity, you must launch an aggressive reciprocal link campaign.

One of the best ways to do this – at no cost at all – is by submitting articles, with your website’s link at the resource box, to e-zines and free article sites. You will not only gain exposure, you will also have the opportunity to advertise for free, just include a link back to your site. The more sites you submit your articles to, the better your link popularity is. Make your articles original, relevant and useful so that more websites will pick it up and post it.

These are but three of the many techniques that an affiliate marketer can use to maximize earning potential. The possibilities are endless and are limited only by your imagination, creativity, resourcefulness and determination. You can always explore other ideas and adapt other strategies, which you think might help you become a high rolling affiliate marketer.

I’ve come to a HUGE realisation in the last few months, well, not so much a realisation, its something I’ve known for years. That is that Action is the ONLY REAL secret to success.

I’ve been marketing online for over 5 years, with varied success in some private niches. Its taken a long time for me to actually ‘get it’… I spent way too much time, surfing marketing sites and reading the forums, I was learning a lot, but doing very little! I bought into all the hype products, the good and the bad! When I started using Ranking Power & Traffic Equalizer I thought I’d made it. On top of the world, automated adsense riches and a list growing at lightning speed!

What did I do? Lived on the AdSense & $20 ebook sales & measly affiliate checks. It was great, I did very little and earned enough that I didn’t work. Then the inevitable happened, the search engines got clever, my bubble burst, my income virtually stopped! I knew it was going to happen, I was just so lazy & silly I fooled mysaelf into thinking it wouldn’t.

I did get a sizeable list in one of my niches, tho they all signed up in 2003 and I haven’t contacted them past the original autoresponder sequence (I do have something in the works to salvage whats left of it, updates will follow).

Whenever I look back, I can see that all my successes were direct results of Action. Theres no question in my mind, to be a success in internet marketing, you need websites, you need your own products, you need a list, and you need partners, affiliates and JV’s. Communication is what the internet is all about, and the more you communicate, the more benefits you’ll get, and ultimately the more money you will make!

As soon as you finish reading this, do something constructive, something to move your business along, or start it moving. Write an article, add another message to your autoresponder sequence, contact someone about a joint venture, anything!

Marketing is so vast a topic and so scientific that your never going to learn everything, you’ll learn a lot from doing!

Keep expanding and never put all your eggs in one basket, I learned that the hard way. Sure there’s many people earn staggering a income with AdSense, but many of those would lose everything if they suddenly had their account shut down, which Google can and do do!

If you have a product that isn’t selling, turn it into a free product, build a list, make it viral, upsell and backend! Get in contact with your clients as often as possible! That doesn’t just mean via email. When they sign up to your list, don’t just have a regular thank you message, offer them something on the thank you page

If you don’t inform people of what you want to happen, then it wont happen! You’d be relying on pure luck! And as a wise man once said, “Luck is the moment when preparation and opportunity meet”.

A joint venture is when two or more businesses join together to work on a project for a set period of time. Doing online joint ventures can increase your chances of beating your competition, increasing your sales and profits, saving time and money, getting valuable referrals, and increasing your market share. The following are ten online joint venture ideas:

1. A simple joint venture would be exchanging text links or banners with other related web sites.

2. Share a web site with another business with the same target market. You both will be marketing and advertising the sameweb site which means double the traffic.

3. Exchange testimonials or endorsements for each others products or services.

4. Combine your products or services together with another businesses into one big package. You could split the profits.

5. Do you have and product or service that doesn’t sell well? Offer it as a free bonus for another businesses product or service. In exchange ask for a small portion of the profits.

6. Offer to insert a promotional ad for another business into your product package. Just ask them in return to do the same for your business.

7. Trade e-zine or auto-responder ads with similar businesses.

8. Team up with related businesses to create an promotional e-book to give away. Publish your web site ads in the e-book then just give it away for free.

9. Host a virtual trade show or seminar with another business. Include each other’s promotional material on the web site.

10. Create a freeware program with another business. Include a promotional ad for each of your businesses in the program. Submit it to freeware and freebie sites.
